The two large-scale dining rooms at the Roche staff house were restructured and rezoned as part of the renovation. The powerful concrete coffered ceilings characterise the two large dining rooms at the Roche staff house. The plane of movement is divided by furniture placement. They are each orientated in a different manner and are limited by different levels of dividing furniture in the form of upholstered benches. They also simultaneously flank the path network. The existing lights were replaced in the same position at the middle span of the coffered ceiling.
A new "luminaire ring" strengthens the overall impression of the space and subtly associates it with its massiveness and rigid frame. Light is directed inward, and the surrounding sides are made from hand-polished aluminium.
The shape is a slightly irregular circle. It consists of 18 profile segments of different lengths bent according to different radii and joined together with a concealed screw. The profile height is 140 mm, and the profile width is 40 mm. The total weight of each lamp is about 120 kg. It floats, supported by 30 filigree steel ropes, apparently freely in space.
